#fightchildhunger Twitter Event Friday with @ResourcefulMom and @KatharineMcPhee

According to recent research from the U.S. Department of Agriculture, nearly one in four children in the United States doesn’t know where their next meal is coming from. These children live across the country and come from all walks of life – from cities to rural areas; two-income families to single-parent homes. Summer is an especially critical time in the battle to end child hunger. During the school year, 19.5 million kids use free or reduced price meal programs in school – however, during the summer, only 2.2 million kids continue using the programs, which means there are nearly 17 million kids who may not know where their next meal is coming from.

We can turn a bake sale, church rummage sale, food drive, yard sale, neighborhood picnic, block party, or other existing community event into a Child Hunger Ends Here Neighborhood Rally simply by donating a portion or all of the proceeds from the event to Feeding America, which has a network of more than 200 food banks across the nation. Money raised and food collected locally will stay in that local community.

Join the party as they share ideas about how we can #fightchildhunger and enter to win one of fifteen prize packs by participating in the event. To learn more, RSVP, and enter to win please go to: http://resourcefulmommy.com/3114/twitter-party-child-hunger-ends-here/
